Today we watched citizen of Kane. I was surprised I haven’t really been aware of this movie and yet it has been ranked as the top 3 movies throughout several decades. There are indeed so many things and beautiful things in the world that I am not yet aware of or experienced.
This movie expressed how people can own a lot of things and get the things they want or desired, but that might not be the thing they need. So it is very important to understand what is it that we need. Sometimes what we desires can be blinded by what other seems to have that we are lack of. However, we need to stop and consider what is it that made them happy. What is it that would make me happy. A lot of times, it is not something you can quantify or not something that the outside world could quantify for you. But you need to be aware of it and hold it dear to you. Sometimes find out what makes you happy, what makes you feel free. It might be intangible, unquantifiable like a story, a feeling, some existence of some kind. But try to let that emerge in your awareness and precious that in every step you go. If you are living in a life surrounded by elements of what you need, you will feel happy and fulfilled. You would want to take responsibilities of your own actions and what you do everyday would means a lot to you.
A sense of ownership sometimes need to come from loving people. Loving others and do the things that means to others. Ownership would feel worthless if you do it just for your own sake. It would even cage you in if you are owning something just for owning sake and owning something for the sake of being afraid of losing it.
It is not easy to love people for the sake of loving people and for the sake of making that people feel meaningful, loved and cared for. But this is one of the highest virtue we can strive for manifesting or to living a life like that. We are living to love, to give ourselves freedom, to give us a good relationship with the world and those around us and giving those around us freedom to love stress free and freedom to care and fulfill others.
